This 7-day relaxing hill country journey begins with your arrival in Sri Lanka and a smooth transfer to the cultural city of Kandy, where you will spend two peaceful nights surrounded by lush greenery, lakes, and sacred heritage sites. In Kandy, you will explore highlights such as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Kandy Lake, and the Royal Botanical Gardens, while enjoying the calm atmosphere of the central highlands.
From Kandy, the journey continues towards Nuwara Eliya, also known as “Little England,” where you will spend two nights in a cool-climate hill station surrounded by tea plantations, waterfalls, and misty landscapes. En route, you can enjoy scenic stops such as tea estates and waterfalls. In Nuwara Eliya, experiences include tea factory visits, Gregory Lake, Hakgala Botanical Garden, and optional excursions to Horton Plains for breathtaking views.
The highlight of the trip comes on Day 5, when you board the world-famous scenic train from Ambewala to Ella. This unforgettable rail journey passes through rolling tea fields, mountain tunnels, and dramatic valleys, offering one of the most beautiful train rides in the world. Upon arrival in Ella, you will spend two nights enjoying the relaxed mountain village atmosphere.
In Ella, the final leg of your journey includes iconic nature experiences such as the Nine Arches Bridge, Little Adam’s Peak hike, Ravana Falls, and panoramic sunset viewpoints. After enjoying the beauty of Ella, the tour concludes with a comfortable transfer back to Colombo or the airport for your departure.
