Pinnawala

Located in the Kegalle District, Pinnawala is home to the renowned Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, one of Sri Lanka’s most popular wildlife attractions. Established to care for orphaned and injured elephants, it has become a major conservation and tourism site. One of the highlights is the daily elephant bathing session in the nearby river, where visitors can watch herds of elephants being bathed and socializing. The surrounding area also features lush greenery, coconut plantations, and rural landscapes.
