Kaudulla

Kaudulla National Park is located in the Polonnaruwa District of Sri Lanka’s North Central Province. It is part of the elephant corridor that connects Minneriya and other protected areas, making it one of the best places in Asia to observe wild elephants in large herds. The park features grasslands, forests, and ancient irrigation tanks that attract wildlife, especially during the dry season. From August to December, the “Kaudulla Elephant Gathering” can be seen, where hundreds of elephants move around the reservoir in search of water and food. The park is also home to deer, crocodiles, monkeys and a variety of bird species, making it a prime eco-tourism destination.
