Bundala

Bundala National Park is one of Sri Lanka’s most important wetland ecosystems, located in the Hambantota District of the Southern Province. It is internationally recognized as a Ramsar wetland and UNESCO Biosphere Reserve due to its rich biodiversity. The park consists of lagoons, salt pans, sand dunes, scrublands and marshes that support hundreds of bird species, including flamingos, pelicans and storks. It is also home to elephants, crocodiles, deer and other wildlife. Bundala is a top destination for birdwatching safaris and nature photography, especially during the migratory season when large flocks of birds gather in the lagoons.
