Planning a holiday should be exciting, stress-free and filled with memorable experiences. Unfortunately, not every traveller enjoys a smooth journey when booking through an unverified or poorly managed travel company.

Recently, a group of 6 adults and 3 children from Brisbane, Australia, arrived in Sri Lanka expecting to begin their long-awaited family holiday. Everything appeared normal when they were met at the airport and transferred to their first accommodation in Sigiriya.

However, later that evening the situation quickly changed.

The guesthouse informed the travellers that payment for their accommodation had not been received. Attempts to contact the booking agent proved difficult, leaving the guests confused and concerned. After repeated calls, payment was eventually made and the group was allowed to continue their stay.

Unfortunately, this was only the beginning of their problems.

The following day, transportation was arranged for the group's sightseeing programme. During conversations with the driver, the travellers discovered that payment for the transport service had also not been received.

As the tour continued, communication with the booking agent became increasingly difficult. Phone calls went unanswered and support was limited.

When the group arrived in Kandy, another issue arose. The transportation provider informed them that no payment had been received and could not continue operating the service without settlement.
