eshanovilana Hatton is a scenic hill-country town in the Nuwara Eliya District of Sri Lanka's Central Highlands, sitting at an elevation of roughly 4,170 feet (1,271 meters). Often called the capital of Ceylon tea country, it offers a quieter, deeply atmospheric alternative to busier hubs like Nuwara Eliya or Ella. Key Highlights & Attractions • Ceylon Tea Estates & Factory Tours: Hatton is surrounded by endless rolling green tea fields. Visitors can walk through plantations, meet local tea pluckers, and tour heritage factories (such as local estate tours around Norwood or nearby valley properties) to see the full "plant-to-cup" process. • Gateway to Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada): Hatton acts as the primary western rail and road gateway for pilgrims and hikers heading to Adam’s Peak (the sacred 2,243-meter mountain) via Nallathanniya, especially during the peak pilgrimage season from December to May. • Castlereagh Reservoir: A tranquil, mirror-like man-made lake framed by steep emerald hills and historic colonial tea-planters’ bungalows. Activities here include kayaking, scenic walks, and cycling. • Waterfalls: The region sits near some of Sri Lanka’s most striking cascades, including Devon Falls (97 meters), St. Clair’s Falls (the "Little Niagara of Sri Lanka"), Laxapana Falls, and Gartmore Falls. #Hatton #Sri Lanka

eshanovilana NASA’s Voyager 1 is about to reach a historic one-light-day milestone: NASA’s Voyager 1 is approaching an extraordinary milestone nearly 50 years after its launch, even as engineers battle dwindling power and mysterious technical problems. A clever energy-saving maneuver has extended the spacecraft’s scientific mission, while an unexplained 48-hour communications blackout recently gave NASA a scare. On November 18, Voyager 1 will reach a distance of one light-day from Earth, making even the simplest round-trip communication take 48 hours. #Nasa #voyager1 #space #news

eshanovilana World's second tallest building gets new mall with 158 stores: Early shoppers lined up as 118 Mall opened in Kuala Lumpur on Nov. 1 at the foot of Menara Merdeka Maybank, formerly Merdeka 118, the world's second tallest building. The seven-story mall was scheduled to open its doors at 11:18 a.m., a symbolic nod to the 118-story tower, but eager visitors were let in earlier, ahead of an official opening ceremony at around 10:30 a.m., Malay Mail reported. Lim Jit Hong, a 56-year-old administrative executive from Cheras, said he arrived by public transport around 9 a.m., two hours before the scheduled opening, to catch tenants' launch promotions. "I'm here for the free chicken! Nando's is offering a free quarter chicken to the first 118 customers, and I also wanted to take advantage of Boost Juice's opening promotions," he told the newspaper. Civil servant Maizatul Akma, who jogs at the nearby Stadium Merdeka on weekends, said the mall's Raincloud, a multi-level water feature with projected light displays, was something she had not seen in other shopping malls. "It just looks so pretty," she said, adding that she was likely to visit regularly and would drop by after her weekly jogs. The mall's attractions also include The Atmosphere, a 20,000-square-foot event space on Level 4 under an 88-meter glass dome that lets in natural light. #kualalumpur #malaysia #malaysiatours
